Workforce Development Consultant
Shawntsi Baret leads the Springfield WORKS program Initiatives, Springfield, MA.
Ms. Baret is a workforce development consultant with 20 plus years’ experience in the industry with a focus on strategic management consulting and related services with a variety of local community based organizations. She also serves as contract based adjunct faculty at both Springfield Technical Community College and Holyoke Community.
Formerly, she was Vice President of Workforce Development/Client Services with a nationally-recognized workforce development consulting firm that integrated the employment needs of businesses with the employment goals of the unemployed, underemployed and incumbent entry-level worker.
Shawntsi’ s experience includes leading efforts in partnering with employers in industry sectors such as healthcare, education, manufacturing, hospitality, and retail for the organization. She has over 20 years of direct service experience in the areas of training, recruitment, outreach, career counseling, workshop facilitation, and workforce development.
She has helped design, develop and implement numerous on-the-job and off-the-job employee support and development programs. Ms. Baret has played a key role in the design and success of a "train-the-trainer” model that has provided clients with unique entry-level career development programs that combine career/professional development with personal "success" counseling, and training.
Ms. Baret has significant experience in the public sector, providing counseling, and job coaching at organizations such as the University of Massachusetts/Donahue Institute Public Employee Career Transition Center and The Massachusetts Department of Employment and Training among others.
